Moo Thru was founded by 4th generation dairy farmer Ken Smith. The Smith Family has owned and operated a dairy farm in Fauquier County for decades. With the help of his family Ken opened Moo Thru in June 2010 and it has been growing ever since. The family farm is located just two miles away from our ice cream store, where our champion Holstein cows are fed the healthiest diet.
Every scoop at Moo Thru starts with milk from our family farm, just two miles away. We blend it with the finest local ingredients and handcraft each batch slowly to bring out rich, creamy flavors. From timeless classics to seasonal favorites like Blackberry Merlot and Bourbon Caramel, there's something to delight every taste - including dairy-free sorbets and sugar-free options.

What a fantastic new selection of indoor dining options, along with an outdoor patio option, adding to wonderful Charlottesville. The atmosphere inside was super cool, the people at the move through were very nice and made me a chocolate milkshake that was right up there with the best.
